Furious lowcostholiday customers are still waiting on refunds – more than two months since the company folded how to make money online now

Rachel Wilson and fiance James were still waiting for money back after losing cash when Lowcostholiday went bust – until The Sun Online contacted Barclays yesterday

Rachel Wilson, 31, from Chesham, Bucks, had been trying to claim back the £880 she lost on a hotel booking through Barclays’ Chargeback scheme since July 16 – the day after the company folded.

Despite filling in a form the bank sent her and making five follow-up calls, she was still waiting on the lost money until The Sun Online contacted Barclays YESTERDAY.

Rachel and her partner James, 32, are currently on the holiday they booked through the company, but were forced to downgrade hotels after losing their reservation.

“It’s been a bit of a nightmare really, we’re getting married next year and what was supposed

to be our cheaper break has ended up costing more than our dream honeymoon to Mexico.”

Rachel said the couple originally booked a luxury 4* all-inclusive hotel in Paphos, Cyprus – but lost the whole £880 for their nine-night stay.

They were forced to re-book another hotel at last minute after being told there was no space for them at Akti Beach Village Resort, and are now staying at the 3* Nereus Hotel.

Rachel called Barclays for the first time one day after Lowcostholiday folded, in the hope she could claim some money back despite booking on a debit card.

“They were quite helpful the first time and gave me instructions over the phone about what evidence they needed and who to send it to,” she said.

Six weeks after sending the initial form, Rachel says she received a second letter asking for further evidence – all of which she claims was in her original letter.

She sent the requested information off for the second time two weeks ago and was told she would hear from the bank in seven days – but still has no response.

Rachel even tried to contact Barclays online while on holiday, but says she was directed to an online chat that would only help with current accounts and debit cards.

She said: “I’m just sick of this back and forth, when I get home I’ll try going into the bank but I doubt that will get us any further. How many ways to make money online I’m just not getting anywhere.

A Barclays spokesperson said: “We have experienced a high number of customers affected by the collapse of Lowcostholiday, but clearly the service Ms Wilson received on this occasion was not acceptable. “As soon as we have all the information we need from our customers, cases are processed swiftly. Want to earn money online without paying anything We will arrange an immediate refund at the same time as we send the claim to Low Cost Holidays.”

Martin Lewis told The Sun Online: “We’ve had hundreds of people get in touch to say that they’ve got their money back through Chargeback but my concern is that there could be thousands of people who didn’t know about this route.

“There are time limits on this scheme and we are starting to get close to them. How can i make money online fast for free The most important thing is that people put their skates on and put in their claim.”
